Norman Newman started racing Go Karts at a young age, winning the Octoberfest Grand Prix 1997. He returned to racing in 2018, with a top 5 finish in points in the OSCAAR Sprint Car division. The following year marked his first season in the OSCAAR Modified division, finishing with 3 heat wins, receiving the John Harper Hard Charger Award, and top 5 finishes in the majority of races.

In 2023, Norm competed in The World Series Of Asphalt Racing at New Smyrna

Speedway in Florida. He qualified for every race, beating out several cars. He returned in 2024 finishing 20th overall after the 5 nights of racing
